NextEnergy is a visionary company that aims to revolutionise the consumer energy market. Despite the growing popularity of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power, consumers are still limited to fixed monthly rates despite the fluctuating nature of energy prices, which change every 15 minutes.

To help their customers automate the charging of electric vehicles (EVs) on dynamic tariffs, NextEnergy recognised the need to assist, given the rapid rise of electric mobility and the recent trend of negative electricity prices in the Netherlands. EVs are the most consuming and flexible appliance in households, and automating their charging enables drivers to charge their vehicles at a lower cost while also utilising more renewable energy sources.

Although the Next Energy app already offered insights into tariffs and energy consumption, it identified that implementing control and automation was the next logical step in this journey.

Solution and Results

Next Energy has enhanced its services by collaborating with Jedlix to integrate a robust smart charging solution seamlessly into the Next Energy app. This was made possible with the effortless integration process using Jedlix's API. With smart services enabled, NextEnergy customers can manage and control charging based on dynamic tariffs, resulting in reduced electricity bills. Furthermore, customers can maximize their use of renewable sources, thereby reducing their overall carbon footprint.

Jedlix's platform provides NextEnergy with access to a wide range of connected EVs and charging stations, allowing them to meet the needs of most EV drivers in their portfolio without requiring any additional hardware.
